General information: Paris is home to about two million people, and the Paris metropolitan area is the largest metropolitan region in the EU, with about 12.5 million inhabitants. Paris is the political, economic and cultural center of France and a stronghold of tourism. The city is divided by the Seine into two halves: The northern, right bank (Rive Droite) is home to more commercial and financial institutions, while the left bank (Rive Gauche) is home to numerous cultural attractions and residential areas. The promenade on the banks of the Seine is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The University of Paris Nanterre, founded in 1964 and enrolling some 35,000 students, is located five kilometers from the center of Paris. At 27 hectares, the campus is the second largest university campus in France.
Study programs and specializations: A general bachelor's and master's degree is offered with various different specializations, including neuropsychology, developmental psychology, psychology of education, social, industrial, and organizational psychology, and clinical psychology, psychopathology, and health psychology.
Study schedule: The winter semester usually begins in early September and ends in January. The summer semester usually runs from mid-January to June. Exams are held in January and May, and retakes may be held in June.
Other Information: The university offers exchange students a range of support services such as language courses, orientation days, a buddy program or a guide for incoming students. In addition, there is the possibility of an apartment placement to the nearby dormitories Nanterre or Saint-Cloud.
